Place your most important or eye-catching items first. These usually go at eye level on the middle shelf. Build outward from there. If you have a centerpiece figure or a rare card, give it breathing room. Crowding it next to other items defeats the purpose of a showcase.
Leave at least half an inch between items. This gives each piece room to stand out and makes it easier to pick things up without knocking neighbors over. For coins in capsules, one inch of space looks cleaner. For action figures, check the widest point of the pose, not just the base.
The theme color picker in this builder is not just for looks. It helps you spot grouping problems before you start moving things around. Try keeping all red-tagged items on one shelf and blue on another. Or mix them deliberately for a rainbow effect. The visual preview makes this easy to test.
Putting the tallest items at the back seems logical, but it blocks everything behind them. Tall items work best in the center or at the front of a shelf. Another common error is filling every inch of space. Empty space is part of a good display. It gives the eye a place to rest and makes each item feel intentional.
If your case is deeper than six inches, flat items like cards and coins disappear toward the back. Acrylic risers lift rear rows so you can see everything. Add a riser as a custom item in the builder with its real dimensions so you can plan around it.
Once your layout looks right on screen, hit Print Layout. Tape the printout inside the case door or prop it nearby while you arrange. It saves a lot of back-and-forth. The printout includes item names, sizes, and your shelf notes.
Three 6-inch figures on a 36-inch shelf with one centerpiece. The tall figure sits in the middle, flanked by two smaller ones. LED strip lighting from above. Leave two inches on each end for visual balance.
Seven toploaders on a 36-inch shelf. Each toploader is about 3.5 inches wide. Use a small riser behind the back row if the case is deep. Group by team or color for a cleaner look.
Three rows of coin capsules on a deep shelf. Front row has the most valuable pieces at eye level. Back rows use risers. A small spotlight on the center coin draws attention.
